Why does withdrawal method still lead to pregnancy and what is a reliable contraception method?

After getting married, many couples do not want to have children too early and prefer to live for a few years. However, sometimes their contraception measures are not so careful, so many male friends resort to withdrawal method. But many people say that even this method may result in pregnancy. Why is that? What is a good contraception method?

      1. Withdrawal method

This method refers to the act of pulling out the penis before ejaculation during sexual intercourse, so that the semen will be ejaculated outside the vagina and the sperm will not meet the egg, achieving the purpose of contraception.

Disadvantage 1: Ejaculation and withdrawal are continuous movements, and the time between them is short. Most men cannot accurately grasp the timing, which means that when they are about to reach orgasm, they may not be able to withdraw the penis in time, resulting in the ejaculated semen containing the most sperm entering the female vagina, which can easily lead to pregnancy.

Disadvantage 2: Before ejaculation, a small amount of sperm may enter the vagina, and the sperm can accumulate in the vas deferens. During sexual arousal, the vas deferens will contract and the sperm will enter the urethra first, and then overflow into the vagina along with the urethral secretion.

Disadvantage 3: Withdrawing the penis from the vagina requires men to navigate the timing “just right,” which can make both parties nervous about the ejaculation time, making the sexual intercourse process unsatisfactory and, in the long run, may even lead to sexual dysfunction.

      2. Vaginal cleaning contraception

This method means that women immediately rinse the vagina with clean water or other liquids after sexual intercourse to wash away the semen inside and avoid pregnancy. This method is not reliable because the range of the cleansing is only the vagina, but many sperm may already have reached the cervix and uterus before the cleansing.

Worse still, many girls wash their vagina with strong and corrosive disinfectants after having sex, thinking that they can “kill” their own sperm to achieve contraception. In fact, this method has no scientific basis and is dangerous. If the concentration of the cleansing liquid is not properly adjusted, it cannot prevent contraception, but it can cause vaginal burns or inflammation.
