How to Deal with Dryness after Postpartum Intercourse

After giving birth and returning to the same room, many women feel very uneasy. They cannot enjoy the pleasure of sexual intercourse and may feel especially dry and painful, which requires paying attention to increasing caresses, strengthening foreplay, and also relaxing oneself emotionally.

1: Hug for at least 20 seconds

A hug lasting 20 seconds is said to increase the secretion of oxytocin in the posterior lobe of both individuals. Face-to-face physical contact can make both parties feel deeply attached. For women, a simple hug can help arouse their sexual desire.

      2: More caresses

Try to touch and kiss more during sexual activity to stimulate the vagina, relax the vagina’s opening, and gradually increase vaginal wetness. When a woman does not want it, do not force it!

      3: Extend foreplay time

You can make foreplay softer and more patient, extending the time and giving enough caresses.

      4: Try to relax

Before intercourse, the mother does not need to be nervous and can take deep breaths to relax her entire body. The husband’s actions should be gentle. If the mother feels discomfort, stop immediately to avoid injury or psychological fear. Remember to moisten before entering to avoid sex pain.

      5: Use lubricant appropriately

Using lubricant is also a good idea. However, some women may be afraid of sexual intercourse and pain, and the more they are nervous, the more severe the symptoms will be, even if the lubricant does not work. In this case, it is recommended to stop regular sexual activity first, start with gentler touches, then insert a finger, and then use the penis to enter after adapting for a period of time.
